No one told San Diego stories like CBS News 8's Larry Himmel.
Larry had a knack for finding the unique people and things that help make San Diego neighborhoods so special. Larry may have summarized his legacy best when he said, "My purpose is to make people feel better about the place they call home."
Now, Larry's family is continuing his legacy through a new charitable foundation.
Everyone in San Diego is part of Larry Himmel's "neighborhood" and Larry's
purpose "to make people feel better" is also the foundation's mission.
Recently, the Larry Himmel Neighborhood Foundation heard of a need at Sunnyslope Elementary and wanted to help out.
The foundation was able to provide the school sports equipment throughout the year.
The foundation provides for the people of San Diego - organizations large and small, as well as individuals in need.
